Morita Equivalence of Star Products

Zusammenfassung: In this talk, I will review some older and some more recent results on the classification of star products up to Morita equivalence. Star products arise as quantizations of physical systems described by geometric mechanics with phase spaces given by symplectic or Poisson manifolds. I will recall the basic notions of star products including several examples. Morita equivalence handles the question whether two associative algebras have the same representation theory. Since the representation theory of star products has immediate physical importance, a classification up to Morita equivalence is of great interest. Both in the symplectic and in the more general Poisson case the classification is now well-understood.
