The kernel of the Dirac operator
Zusammenfassung: Collaboration with M. Dahl, Stockholm, and E. Humbert, Tours The Dirac operator D is a first order elliptic operator on a Riemannian spin manifold M. The Dirac operators has its origin in physics: the Dirac equation describes the propagation of fermions, as e.g. electrons; however the talk will focus on mathematical aspects. We will start with the description of minimal surfaces in R3 using the Weierstrass representation. This representation translates the data for such a minimal surface locally into a pair of holomorphic functions. Globally these holomorphic functions yield a spinor field
