Hartree-Fock dynamics for quasi-free fermions

Zusammenfassung: Fermions are quantum particles, described by wave functions that are antisymmetric with respect to permutations. On the microscopic level, their time-evolution is governed by the many-body Schroedinger equation. We show that, in the regime of weak interaction, the evolution of an important class of initial data, known as quasi-free states, can be approximated by the nonlinear Hartree-Fock equation. We will consider quasi-free states which are relevant at zero temperature (Slater determinants) as well as mixed quasi-free states, which are relevant at positive temperature.
