Online-Only Lectures

Lectures as Video Podcasts: For each lecture, I will publish a downloadable video podcast, where I will handwrite and explain the material that I would usually have presented at the classroom board. Using the following link (and then logging in with your LMU Campus ID), you can access the playlist containing the video podcasts of the lectures of this class:
Playlist.
I plan to publish the video podcasts ahead of time as they become available. However, I strongly recommend to study each week only the material corresponding to the lectures of that week (in order not to be overwhelmed by too much new material in too short a time).
Lectures Notes: In addition to the Lecture Notes plus Appendix (both still work-in-progress and updated frequently throughout the semester), for each lecture, you can find scans of the handwritten notes at Uni2work (published approximately simultaneously with the video podcasts). The Appendix to the Lecture Notes contains additional background material and/or further reading for interested students that is not part of the curriculum of the final exam.
Online Q&A Sessions via Zoom: Commencing during the third week of classes, every two weeks at the Wednesday time slot for the lecture, there will be an online Q&A session via Zoom, where students can ask questions regarding previously published class material. Important Note: The format of the Q&A sessions will be quite different from that of a normal lecture: I will only react to students' questions - otherwise, there will be no class material presented during the Q&A sessions. Each Q&A session will start on time on Wed 12:15 P.M. In case, there are no more students' questions to be covered, the session will be ended before 1:45 P.M. The questions should be restricted to current or previous class material (and should not address pre-published future material).
Contents Summary: For each published lecture, via the following link you can find a Contents Summary. This is the material you will be expected to know for the final exam.

Homework Assignments and Discussion Section

Homework Assignments: Each Wednesday, a set of homework problems will be published on Uni2work. It is strongly recommended that you work on the homework problems each week, but the homework will not be turned in or graded. Suggested solutions to the homework problems will be published in the second week after the problems were published.
Discussion Section: A weekly discussion section is conducted by Dr. Lee via Zoom. The discussion section will be used to discuss solutions to homework problems and to give students the opportunity to solve further problems during the class.
