Arriving at Munich airport
In order to make your way into the city after arriving at the airport, it's
probably best to take the suburban train (S-Bahn)
which run every 10 minutes (You can take both, S8 or S1).
The train station is underneath the airport central area (Z),
just follow the signs showing a white "S" in a circle with green background.
The trip into town will take approximately 45 minutes.
You can descend either at station Marienplatz or at station Karlsplatz.
Ticket: We recommend to buy a blue strip card (blaue Streifenkarte, 15 DM)
at a vending machine and to cancel 8 strips for getting to any place in
Munich public transport
More information about the (quite complicated) fare system of Munich public transport can bee found here.
- Subway and S-Bahn-maps as well as a very good information system that chooses your best possible way is provided by the MVV itself.
