- Research group
at Innsbruck
The Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of
Innsbruck, Austria, has an active group of researchers
working on Bohmian mechanics, headed by Gebhard Grübl.
Their homepage contains information about the group and about
Bohmian mechanics, their research papers, and a lot of
impressive pictures of numerical simulations.
- A view of
quantum foundations
A web site composed by Douglas Hemmick.
- Some online articles
Quantum mechanics and dissidents
by Eric Dennis (2001).
Bohmian mechanics by Anonymous (2004).
- A discussion e-group on Bell's inequality and
Bohmian mechanics
founded by Eric Dennis, Princeton U. This is an electronic
forum discussing the consequences
of Bell's inequality and the value and status of Bohmian mechanics.
- Simulation
of wave packets and Bohmian trajectories
This page by Pablo Yepes, Rice U, presents Java applets that
visualize the wave function
and the Bohmian particle in several situations: a free wave packet,
tunneling, and the double slit experiment.
- A simulation of stochastic mechanics: the double
slit experiment.
(If this doesn't work, then perhaps
you disabled Java in the preferences menu of your browser.)
Stochastic mechanics is a theory very similar to Bohmian mechanics,
the essential difference being that the deterministic law of motion
is perturbed by a noise term, so the particle trajectories are
diffusion paths, i.e. they solve a stochastic differential
equation (SDE) rather than an ordinary differential equation
(ODE). Stochastic
mechanics was developed in the 1960s by Edward Nelson,
Princeton U.
This site shows simulated Nelsonian diffusion paths for
the quantum-mechanical double-slit experiment.
- The Stanford
Encyclopedia
of Philosophy
An online encyclopedia published by Stanford U and edited by
E. N. Zalta. All articles are freely accessible.
Among many other topics, a number of articles depicting the different
views on quantum mechanics are projected. The
entry on Bohmian mechanics was written by Sheldon Goldstein.
- Preprint archives
Many new scientific papers are available prior to publication on the
WWW, in archives that collect preprints. Please note that the
quality of the papers posted there may vary considerably
since they don't get refereed or checked for correctness in any
way. Here are some archives relevant to the foundations of
quantum mechanics:
- arXiv
is by far the biggest archive in this list. It
collects papers from all branches of mathematics and physics.
Papers on the foundations of quantum mechanics are usually listed
in the quant-ph (quantum physics) category.
- mp_arc
is specialized on papers in Mathematical Physics.
- PhilSci,
from the U of Pittsburgh, is specialized
on Philosophy of Science.
-
www.david-bohm.net
This site, maintained by William van den Heuvel, provides a variety
of material around David Bohm and his ideas on dialogues.
- Bohm-dialogue
Bohm not only contributed
to physics, he also suggested, in his book "On dialogue",
a particular form of discussion, sometimes
known as Bohm-dialoge, encouraging more freedom of thought.
TT The Table
is a group putting Bohm-dialogue online.
